Family Support Worker
Location: Based in our Ealing Main Office but working across Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow
Salary: £29,500 - £33,186 per annum (Inclusive of Outer London Weighting)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Permanent, subject to continuous funding
EACH Counselling and Support is a growing organisation, with 50+ staff and volunteers, and presence in 10 London Boroughs. We provide a wide range of services (therapeutic and non therapeutic) around our core strands of Mental Health, Domestic Abuse and Substance Misuse.
We are currently recruiting 3 x Family Support Workers to join our BME and Migrant Women Family Support Service.
One of these posts will be a specialist role focusing on supporting women with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), requiring additional knowledge of immigration-related issues, access to accommodation pathways, and complex risk management.
EACH is launching a new three year MOPAC funded project supporting Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) and migrant women including those with No Recourse to Public Funds who are affected by domestic abuse across North West London.
Based in Ealing and working across Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow, the service provides assessments, therapeutic and group support, casework, practical help, and peer led interventions for women and their children.
With over 30 years' experience delivering culturally sensitive services, EACH works closely with local partners to help women move towards safer, more independent lives.
The team includes a Family Therapist Service Lead, Family Support Workers and a Peer Support Worker, all committed to empowering women who face barriers to mainstream support.
The Family Support Worker will be a key role ensuring delivery and performance of EACH's non-therapeutic family services.
Your key duties as our Resettlement Support Worker include to:
• Provide practical, emotional and advocacy support to women and families affected by domestic abuse
• Work alongside survivors to develop and deliver safety-focused, strengths-based support plans. •
• Offer direct, one-to-one and family-based interventions to promote stability, confidence and independence.
• Support engagement with housing, legal, health, education and community services.
• Contribute to safeguarding, risk assessment and multi-agency planning..
You will need:
• Experience working with women and/or families affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence or exploitation.
• A strong understanding of trauma-informed, survivor-centred and empowerment-based practice.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and safety planning in a VAWG context.
• Ability to engage sensitively with individuals who may be fearful, isolated or marginalised.
• Good organisational, recording and communication skills.
