We are now seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager / Foreman to join our team for a temporary site cover role in Guildford for the next 2 weeks, with the potential for a longer-term position.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Assistant Site Manager / Foreman to cover site, manage paperwork and trades and support our Project Manager on a busy construction project in Guildford.
This temporary role (1-2 weeks) offers the opportunity to transition into a longer-term position based on performance and project requirements. You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth site operations, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to the success of our project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in overseeing daily site activities, including coordination of labour, plant, and materials.
- Supervise and motivate site operatives to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to our high standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting toolbox talks and risk assessments as required.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and report any issues promptly to the Site Manager.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs and reports.
- Uphold quality control standards to meet project specifications and client expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Foreman, Ganger, or similar role in the construction industry.
- Valid CSCS card
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- Strong understanding of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and site management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a diverse team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and resolve on-site challenges effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport (preferred due to site location).
- Availability to start immediately.
