# Position Information

## Min T/E Requirements

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in History or a Master?s Degree in History or a related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in History. All degrees must come from accredited institutions. Strong consideration will be afforded to candidates who exhibit a demonstrated record of professional experience and success in undergraduate teaching. For positions that may include online teaching, candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to successfully structure and implement a distance-education based course.

To offer courses in the following subject areas: American Civilizations to 1877, American Civilizations since 1877, Introduction to African-American History, World Civilizations to 1500, World Civilizations since 1500, and History of North Carolina.

## Job Description

The Department of History has need for part-time or adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following subject areas: American Civilizations to 1877, American Civilizations since 1877, Introduction to African-American History, World Civilizations to 1500, World Civilizations since 1500, and History of North Carolina.

Adjunct positions are especially suited for potential faculty who possess terminal degrees in History or have a minimum of 18 hours of approved graduate course work in relevant fields of History. The History Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and part-time faculty are expected to exhibit and maintain campus and department standards.

Work Location: Main campus of UNCP and designated off-campus sites
