As a Buyer, you will play an important role in supporting Category Managers and Senior Buyers, helping to develop and implement category strategies that drive value, improve lead times, strengthen supply continuity and enhance overall supplier performance.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting and deploying category strategies aligned to key procurement objectives. 
• Managing a portfolio of spend categories, overseeing the full end-to-end procurement cycle, including supplier identification, negotiation, forecasting and inventory management. 
• Initiating procurement tenders and delivering projects that support savings, supplier consolidation and improved service performance.
• Leading negotiations to support supply continuity and developing effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
• Conducting regular supplier review meetings and using analytical tools to influence strategic decisions. 
• Managing and reviewing category contracts to ensure risks are mitigated and terms remain favourable. 
• Supporting the MRP process to ensure all purchasing requirements are completed on time and in full. 
• Keeping up to date with market developments and recommending improvements to supply chain models. 

What we’re looking for

• Experience working across multiple procurement categories with a track record of delivering cost savings and service improvements. 
• Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to support commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage persuasively with stakeholders at all levels. 
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively and operate with high attention to detail.
