Technical Manager

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join a growing, design-led residential developer delivering a diverse portfolio of high-quality housing and apartment schemes across the Midlands.
This is a key role within the technical team, reporting into the Head of Technical, and offers the chance to work on a range of complex, multi-phase developments with long-term pipeline security.
Salary & Package
- 💷 £60,000 - £90,000
- 🎯 Bonus: Up to 20%
- 🚗 Car allowance: £5,000 - £7,000
- 🌴 Holiday: Standard allowance + office closure over Christmas
- ⏱️ Flexibility: Pragmatic approach to personal commitments (appointments, school events, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of residential developments from pre-construction through to completion
- Oversee design development, ensuring compliance with planning, building regulations, and technical standards
- Appoint, manage, and coordinate external consultants and design teams
- Drive programme, cost efficiency, and buildability across schemes
- Act as a key interface between technical, construction, and commercial teams
- Support delivery across both housebuilding and apartment schemes
- Ensure smooth handover of information to site teams and resolve technical issues during construction
Projects
You will be involved in a varied and high-quality development pipeline, including:
- Over 700 units in planning or on site
Technical Manager Candidate Profile
Experience:
- Proven experience in a Technical role within residential development
- Strong exposure to both housing and apartment schemes (ideally)
- Background within a developer, consultancy, or main contractor environment

- Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
- Confident working autonomously and taking ownership
- Commercially aware with a focus on delivery
