The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join a growing, design-led residential developer delivering a diverse portfolio of high-quality housing and apartment schemes across the Midlands.

This is a key role within the technical team, reporting into the Head of Technical, and offers the chance to work on a range of complex, multi-phase developments with long-term pipeline security.

Salary & Package

• 💷 £60,000 - £90,000
• 🎯 Bonus: Up to 20%
• 🚗 Car allowance: £5,000 - £7,000
• 🌴 Holiday: Standard allowance + office closure over Christmas
• ⏱️ Flexibility: Pragmatic approach to personal commitments (appointments, school events, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of residential developments from pre-construction through to completion
• Oversee design development, ensuring compliance with planning, building regulations, and technical standards
• Appoint, manage, and coordinate external consultants and design teams
• Drive programme, cost efficiency, and buildability across schemes
• Act as a key interface between technical, construction, and commercial teams
• Support delivery across both housebuilding and apartment schemes
• Ensure smooth handover of information to site teams and resolve technical issues during construction

Projects

You will be involved in a varied and high-quality development pipeline, including:

• Over 700 units in planning or on site

Technical Manager Candidate Profile

Experience:

• Proven experience in a Technical role within residential development
• Strong exposure to both housing and apartment schemes (ideally)
• Background within a developer, consultancy, or main contractor environment
