Advanced Recruit are working on behalf of their client in the Bilston area who have unrivalled experience in the design and fabrication of steel restraint barriers and infrastructure products.

Our client has urgent requirements for several MIG welders with high Gauge MIG welding experience and experience of using an overhead crane.

Duties include

• Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products

• Preferred candidate will have MIG and MAG experience in aluminium and steel

• Ideally 3-5 years fabrication experience preferred

• Use callipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other associated welding hand tools and equipment

• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods

• Utilize and be able to use handheld power tools such as handheld drills, and grinders etc.

• Maintain/Control inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables

• Create specific weld fitment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements

• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards

• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified

• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes

• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

• Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff

• Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with management requirements

• Must have overhead crane experience

• Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions

• Basic computer and utilization skills preferred

• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem

• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

• Specific welding, fabrication training or certification preferred

• Work in a team environment and respect all team members

• Regularly lift cumbersome or awkward items

• Regularly perform repetitive tasks

• Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
