Job Title: Refuse Driver

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Refuse Driver to support the delivery of waste and recycling collections. This frontline role is essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment for the local community.

You will be responsible for driving a refuse collection vehicle and working alongside a small crew to complete scheduled collection rounds efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Drive and operate refuse/recycling collection vehicles

Carry out daily vehicle safety and roadworthiness checks

Ensure vehicles are not overloaded and comply with legal requirements

Transport waste to designated disposal sites

Support loading duties when required

Ensure bins are returned correctly and spillages cleared

Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times

Report missed collections or operational issues to the supervisor

About You

Hold a current, clean Category C (HGV Class 2) licence

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather

Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Reliable, punctual and safety conscious

Confident communicating with colleagues and members of the public

Flexible with working arrangements

Previous experience in refuse collection or similar driving work is desirable but not essential
