Workshop Plant Fitter

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours: 40-45 hours per week (overtime likely available)

A well-established and busy workshop is looking for a skilled and motivated Workshop Plant Fitter to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a variety of heavy plant machinery in a hands-on and technically engaging role.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of plant machinery (including Hitachi equipment)
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Carry out safety inspections and ensure equipment is operating effectively and legally
Replace or repair faulty components and systems as required
Keep clear service records and ensure workshop standards are maintained
Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet service deadlines
Requirements:

NVQ or equivalent qualification in Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering
Sound mechanical knowledge, with diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Understanding of hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Hitachi machinery is a bonus, but not essential
Strong attitude toward health & safety and quality of work
