Behaviour Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Burgess Hill. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (term-time only)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and individual support plans
- Promote a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support student progress
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development
- Help de-escalate challenging situations using a calm and consistent approach
- Support students in developing coping strategies and positive behaviours
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
Important:Due to the rural location of the school in Burgess Hill, you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle, as public transport options may be limited.
