Planned & Reactive Electrician

💰 £230 per day

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join a facilities maintenance team within a secure environment in Gloucester.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining planned preventative maintenance (PPM) with reactive repairs. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and continuous operation of electrical systems across the site.

🔧 The Role

Duties will include:

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment

* Responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns

* Maintenance of lighting systems (internal & external)

* Working on emergency lighting systems

* Supporting fire alarm systems and interfaces

* Maintenance of power distribution systems

* Working with access control systems

* Installation and maintenance of metal containment systems (tray, basket, conduit, trunking)

* Conducting electrical testing and inspection (EICRs)

* Ensuring compliance with BS7671 and health & safety regulations

* Completing all required documentation and reports accurately

* Working safely at all times within a secure site

✅ Requirements

* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

* ECS Gold Card (essential)

* EL1 Security Clearance (essential)

* 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)

* Proven experience in planned and reactive maintenance

* Experience working with metal containment systems

* Strong fault-finding ability

* Ability to work independently and within a team

* Good communication skills

Experience within MOD, custodial, or other high-security environments is highly advantageous.
