Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Rugeley

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a school team. Ideal candidates should possess:

A profound understanding of supporting children and young people (both boys and girls) aged 5 to 19 with a primary diagnosis of autism or displaying behaviours consistent with such a diagnosis.

Strong communication skills and the ability to create a safe, welcoming, and structured environment conducive to learning and development.

Adaptability and creativity to support students with moderate to severe learning difficulties in achieving their full potential across various areas of development.

Qualifications or Certificates:

A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.

Additional certifications in autism awareness, sensory regulation, or behaviour management are highly desirable.

Experience:

Previous experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or similar conditions in an educational setting is essential.

Experience in implementing personalised learning plans and utilising multisensory approaches to engage and support students' development.

Familiarity with promoting communication skills, sensory regulation, academic attainment, self-regulated behaviour, and social-emotional development in children and young people with ASD and associated learning difficulties is beneficial.

As a Teaching Assistant at School, you will provide crucial support to children and young people aged 5 to 19 with autism spectrum disorders and associated learning difficulties. This role involves delivering a personalised curriculum focused on communication skills, sensory regulation, engagement, academic attainment, self-regulated behaviour, social-emotional development, and life skills. Emphasis is placed on physical exercise and a multisensory approach, fostering students' social, educational, and practical skills in a beautiful and stimulating environment.
