Are you detail-oriented, organised, and looking to take the next step in your finance career? We're seeking a Finance Assistant to support our Senior Financial Controller and help manage the day-to-day financial activities of the company. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the finance function across a range of key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise daily with the Financial Controller to plan workload and requirements.
  • Raise relevant sales invoices and check supporting documentation.
  • Process purchase ledger invoices, matching them with appropriate documentation.
  • Review and verify invoices for quantities received, pricing, and discounts.
  • Resolve discrepancies or billing issues by liaising with internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Maintain credit control records, including limits and payments, and liaise with customers.
  • Accurately input financial data into the MPI and accounting systems.
  • Organise and manage filing systems for financial documents.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a paperless office through scanning and organising files.
  • Assist in generating regular financial reports.
  • Support the Financial Controller with tasks and instructions.
  • Collaborate on month-end activities.
  • Prepare stock adjustments and month-end reports.
  • Take on ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
  • Show strong attention to detail.
  • Always work in a safe manner to protect yourself and others.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working in a busy office environment.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a health and safety-focused workplace.
  • CIMA/ACCA qualification preferred but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Self-starter with the ability to use initiative.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
