The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in our Reception class, supporting children as they take their first steps in education. You will play a key role in helping to deliver high-quality Early Years provision, working closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support children's learning and development through play and structured activities

*

Assist in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

*

Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs

*

Help maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment

*

Assist with setting up activities, preparing resources, and tidying up after sessions

*

Contribute to observations and assessments to track children's progress

*

Support with toileting, changing, and other care needs when required

What We're Looking For

*

Experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS setting

*

A warm, patient, and caring approach

*

Understanding of child development and the EYFS framework

*

Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

*

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

*

Desirable: A relevant Early Years or TA qualification such as Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning
