Deputy Nursery Manager – Up to £33,000

 

The nursery operates across age-specific rooms and a large outdoor space used throughout the day. As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff supervision, room organisation, and the delivery of high-quality early years practice. This is a hands-on role where you will still work with children directly while taking responsibility for maintaining standards and ensuring smooth operations.

 

Before You Apply

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification is required.
  • You must have experience in a supervisory or senior nursery role.
  • This position is not suitable for practitioners without management or leadership experience.

What You’ll Need

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Recent experience in a supervisory or senior nursery role
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
  • Confidence leading staff and managing room operations
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery
  • Lead and mentor practitioners across rooms to maintain high standards
  • Act as key person for a group of children and contribute to their learning and development
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities aligned with EYFS
  • Monitor observations, assessments, and learning records across rooms
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Assist in staff scheduling, room organisation, and operational decision-making
