The Opportunity

Ocho is partnering with a high-growth, next-generation Cloud Security platform building cutting-edge solutions that help organisations identify and prioritise real security risks in real time.

You will join a strong backend team solving complex distributed systems challenges daily, working across AWS, GCP and Azure, and building systems that operate in high-performance, high-availability environments.

The Role

As a Backend Developer, you will take ownership across the full lifecycle of short-life, high-impact engineering projects, from design and development through to deployment, monitoring and production optimisation.

You will:

• Design, build and deploy backend services in Golang and/or Java
• Contribute to system architecture, scalability planning and SLO definition
• Perform reliability and performance analysis across distributed systems
• Work with data-intensive technologies including messaging and event systems
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Frontend and Product teams
• Participate in design and code reviews within a high-performing engineering group

This is a role for engineers who want to build properly engineered systems, not just ship features.

Tech Environment

You will work with a modern stack including:

• AWS, GCP, Azure
• Kubernetes and Docker
• Golang and Java
• Neo4j, ElasticSearch, Redis, TimescaleDB
• RabbitMQ and event-driven systems
• CI/CD pipelines
• Microservices architecture

About You

We are keen to speak with engineers who have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
• Commercial backend experience in a high-level language, ideally Golang and/or Java
• Experience building or operating cloud-based systems
• Exposure to distributed systems, messaging platforms or data-intensive applications
• Experience working within microservices architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments
