Academics in Canterbury are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teachers to work in early years classrooms across a range of lovely schools in areas including Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities to suit your availability and lifestyle.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the early education of children, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and essential skills for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform future planning and teaching
  • Support children's personal, social, emotional, and language development
  • Build strong relationships with teaching assistants, parents/carers, and colleagues
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school's values and ethos
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including outdoor learning, celebrations, and events

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Early Years, ideally Reception
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early learning approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach
  • Flexibility to work across different schools and settings
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare
  • Right to work in the UK
