Excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a well-established company based in Bromyard

The company

They are a leading & innovative British trade manufacturer of a wide range of corporate & promotional merchandise & beautiful gifts. They design, manufacture, print & finish all of the products they sell on site, with many unique products made from sustainable materials. Based in rural Herefordshire the company employs over 50 people in a team that has won many industry awards for their products & services.

Sustainability is at the core of what they do, they are Charter Members of the trade association (the BPMA) with ISO9001 quality & ISO14001 environmental certification. They are also Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) registered, members of Made in Britain, corporate members of The Woodland Trust & partnered with Ecologi planting thousands of trees worldwide with them & offsetting hundreds of tonnes of carbon. The company believes in & prides itself in rewarding honesty, hard work, efficiency & creativity.

Due to the departure of their current company Accountant, they now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated & experienced individual to join their accounts department, working with their part-time accounts assistant & supported by the directors, company senior management and their external accountants.

Duties to include:

Dealing with day-to-day financial tasks such as data entry, VAT returns & payroll. To also prepare & present monthly reports on the company's financial health & liquidity (such as profit + loss & cashflow) & any other reports as required by the directors.

The role will include: -

* Purchase orders & accounts payable

* Sales accounting & credit control

* Cash & banking admin

* Payroll accounting

* Invoicing customers from our database & processing those invoices on SAGE

* Liaising with managerial staff, colleagues & clients

* Checking supplier statements to SAGE

* Regular updating of information to both SAGE & our bespoke CRM

* Preparing & reconciling ledger balances

* Completing & submitting VAT returns & other reporting requirements

Required Skills: -

* Previous experience within a similar accounting role is essential

* Excellent knowledge of Sage & spreadsheets (Sage Accounts & Sage Payroll) & to be otherwise I.T literate

* AAT Level 4 as a minimum preferred although a part-qualified accountant could be considered

* Excellent verbal & written communication skills

* Good mathematical & problem-solving skills

* Efficiency & the ability to prioritise your own workload where attention to detail is critical

* Follow existing systems & processes

* Due to the location, you must consider your transport needs

Salary - negotiable (depending on experience) working full-time, 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday & 8.30am- 4.30pm on Friday. Shorter hours would be considered. Annual holiday is 30 days including bank holidays (bank holidays normally account for 8 days). An annual factory shutdown at Christmas accounts for 3-4 of these days. One-hour unpaid breaks per day (2 x 15 minute am & pm & ½ hour for lunch).
