The SUNY Poly Associate Vice President for Capital Equipment Availability will report to the Vice President for Research (VPR). Duties, as directed by or through the VPR, include but are not limited to:







+ Work with Photonics program and technical leads for capacity tooling definition and configuration



+ Establish plans if necessary with current tools to bridge loading until availability to new tools.



+ Work with Fab layout and equipment teams to understand placement and location, including any necessary de-installs needed.



+ Engage Vendors equipment needs/configuration, initial quotes and program timelines.



+ Work with Procurement to establish Single Source Justification (SSJ) criteria and procedures



+ Engage Vendors in Purchase Agreement contract negotiations, focusing on program delivery timeline and cost needs, establish factory production slots and On Dock Dates (ODD's)



+ Obtain all required documentation for reporting to funding agencies.



+ Close Final Acceptance Test (FAT) criteria with Photonics team and tool owners



+ Close Purchase Agreements with Procurement, then get final execution when funds are released from sponsor



+ Engage Equipment Engineering for installation, removal and cut sheets



+ Establish removal and installation timelines based on established project planning metrics



+ Request installation and removal quotes from vendors; prepare single source justification - or issue RFP for all tools



+ Manage tool removals and facility prep



+ Manage project/schedule for each tool's installation



+ Work with Photonics program and technical leads on wafer preparation plan for process & recipe transfer



+ Coordinate with Vendor and tool owner/installation team for tool installs



+ Coordinate with Vendor, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Tool/Process owners on tool turn on readiness



+ Work with Vendor and Tool/Process owners on executing FAT plans for tool acceptance



+ Coordinate with Program and Finance stakeholders on final payments and title transfer.



+ Other reasonable duties as assigned.







Job Requirements:

Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Experience in equipment procurement and installation.





Preferred Qualifications:





Ability to demonstrate experience in as many of the following areas: commercial transactions, intellectual property protection and/or transfer, industrial research.
