SEN KS2 Teaching Assistant

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Teaching assistant (SEN TA) to join our successful supply team and work in a local primary school in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear. This assistant role will entail a long-term supply position which will commence as soon as possible and ongoing. This is a Full-time role working Monday to Friday from 8.30 - 15.30.

The role

This role requires the successful candidate to provide consistent and reliable 2:1 support to a student with SEN. The pupil is currently in Year 3 and operating at a Nursery/Reception level. They have Autism, are non-verbal and are on an educational healthcare plan to improve communication and flexibility.

The desired SEN TA will be part of a dynamic and motivated team at the Sunderland based school. Additionally, the school desires the candidate to adopt the community ethos of the school.


* Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
* Have experience of working as a Teaching assistant in a Primary School environment.
* Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.
* Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
* Have experience assisting with children who have SEN
* May have experience using Makaton
