We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager to join a high-profile fleet maintenance operation at Heathrow Airport.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone from a mechanical, fleet, or workshop background who is confident managing teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of maintenance operations across airside and landside, ensuring performance, safety, and service delivery targets are consistently met.

Key responsibilities:

* Lead and manage a team within a busy operational environment

* Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in line with planned schedules

* Drive productivity, efficiency, and service performance

* Manage workshop loading, resource allocation, and prioritisation of work

* Ensure compliance with health & safety and operational standards

* Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers

* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

* Ensure all work orders and documentation are completed accurately (SAP)

Requirements

* Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory role

* Background in mechanical, fleet, or workshop environments

* Strong leadership and communication skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

* Good organisational and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

* IOSH / NEBOSH

* Experience with SAP or similar systems

* Knowledge of heavy vehicles, fleet maintenance, or aviation support equipment
