We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their friendly, supportive team to cover maternity leave from May until July 2026.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school with a strong community feel and high expectations for pupil progress.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Teaching a Year 2 class within a nurturing, inclusive environment
• Delivering RWI Phonics as part of the school’s established phonics programme
• Taking responsibility for planning, teaching and assessing across all subjects in the year group

To Thrive in This Role You Will Be:

• Experienced in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
• Confident delivering Read Write Inc. phonics
• Skilled in planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum
• Committed to raising standards and developing independent, motivated learners
• Able to integrate quickly into a supportive and collaborative team

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching in KS1 in UK primary schools
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
