Fortress Recruit are working with a leading defence engineering and manufacturing organisation in the recruitment of a Production Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.

You will play a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement across production.

Key responsibilities:

* Support new product introduction ensuring design for manufacture principles are achieved

* Develop and implement manufacturing processes, systems, and work instructions

* Design fixtures and tooling to support assembly and production activities

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, cost, and efficiency

* Carry out root cause analysis and resolve production and process issues

* Conduct PFMEA activities and support process validation

* Reduce waste and improve productivity using lean manufacturing principles

* Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams

* Provide technical support and training to production where required

To be successful, you'll have:

* Experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment

* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles

* Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI)

* Ability to carry out root cause analysis and problem-solving activities

* Understanding of PFMEA, process improvement, and standardisation

* Experience using CAD tools

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Relevant engineering qualification (HND, degree, or equivalent experience)

* Eligibility for SC clearance (5 years' UK residency without visa or sponsorship requirement)
