We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Interventions Teaching Assistant to work within secondary schools in Newport and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm
- Pay: From £13.75 per hour
- Start Date: ASAP
- Sector: Secondary Education (Mainstream & ALN Support)
About the RoleAs an Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and behavioural challenges within a mainstream secondary school setting.
You will play a key role in helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, working closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver targeted interventions.
This role is ideal for someone who is:

Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ALN
- Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions
- Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Follow all safeguarding and child protection policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Adapt to changing classroom and pupil needs
RequirementsTo be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Hold a Child Workforce DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
- Provide 2 professional references covering the last 24 months
- Demonstrate resilience and confidence managing challenging behaviour
