Position: Distribution Team Leader
Location: Carrington or Walkden
Salary: £15.96 per hour
Duration: 6 months (with a potential for becoming permanent in future)
Hours: 47 hours per week

Overview of a Distribution Team Lead
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Team Lead to manage and support the daily operations of drivers across the Carrington or Walkden depots. This role is focused on ensuring safety compliance, transport efficiency, and resource planning while coaching and leading the driver team to deliver high service standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities of a Distribution Team Lead
• Supervise and manage daily driver activities, including holiday planning and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate and support driver training programmes, including CPC, ADR, and annual assessments.
• Investigate and manage driver-related incidents, including reporting and corrective actions.
• Provide regular performance feedback and drive improvements in cost efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with scheduling, HR, and management teams to ensure effective communication and operational alignment.

Key competencies of a Distribution Team Lead
• Experience in distribution and a good understanding of transport legislation.
• Proven leadership and team supervision experience.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (preferred but not essential).
• ADR and Driver CPC qualifications (preferred but not essential).
