Mechanical Design Engineer

Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of our clients' team based in Telford, Shropshire.

The successful candidate will be a strong mechanical designer, experienced in designing tooling, gauges and fixtures using SolidWorks. Responsible for producing designs, drawings and associated documentation ensuring stipulated specifications and requirements are met and delivered within budget and on time.

Hours: Mon-Fri | 39 hours per week | Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE.

Duties include but not limited to:

Ability to take a general concept and develop it into a finished product.
Work to schedule timelines for efficient releases.
Communicate progress on tasks to direct supervisor.
Create 3D designs and drawings.
Produce working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials.
Work with other members of the design team to produce a complete solution.
Knowledge of GD&T.
Participate in team design reviews and analysis.
Improve existing tooling to enhance performance.
Adhere to all ISO procedures pertaining to job responsibilities.
Comply and follow all procedures within the Company quality management system.
Ensures design for manufacturability.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Ideal Candidate:

Minimum HNC/Degree or equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solidworks experience desirable.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
