Location - Preston

Salary/Package - £36,000 - £42,500 (DOE) Van/Fuel Card, PPE/Tools, 32 days hols inc banks, Death in Service, OT Available paid at double time, Call out, & more

Client

An established facilities management company specialising in Health and Mental Health Services and can combine all trades into one.

We also undertake construction projects from small repairs to large refurbishments in a variety of commercial industries.

Purpose of the role

To carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.
  • Install, maintain, and inspect a wide range of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting.
  • Fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms
  • Solar PV and energy-efficient solutions
  • Conduct fault finding, testing, and inspection in compliance with BS7671
  • Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Maintain accurate job records using reporting systems
  • Communicate clearly with site managers, clients, and team members

Qualifications & Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing Certification (preferred)
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Experience in healthcare or education environments (NHS, schools, universities)

We are looking for a conscientious, reliable person capable of working on their own and as part of a team. Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
