An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Class 2D+ Building Control Surveyor to join a busy West Midlands local authority on an initial 6-month contract with hybrid working flexibility.

🔎 Role Overview:

You will play a vital role in assessing and inspecting building control applications, ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations across a range of commercial and residential projects. This is a chance to work in a supportive environment offering a mix of office and remote working.

✔ Key Responsibilities:

Review and approve building control applications and plans

Conduct site inspections to ensure regulatory compliance

Liaise with developers, architects, and contractors to provide technical advice

Investigate non-compliance and unsafe structures

Maintain accurate records and documentation

🎯 Candidate Requirements:

Valid Class 2D+ accreditation under the BSR scheme

Proven local authority or relevant building control experience

Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and statutory guidance

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

📍 Location & Working Pattern:

Based in the West Midlands with hybrid working arrangements (mix of office and remote)
