  • Hourly Rate: £19.13 via Umbrella (£15.85 via PAYE).

We are seeking Joiners for planned works or day-to-day repairs, carrying out comprehensive joinery tasks associated with repairs and maintenance roles. This position requires a professional who can deliver high-quality craftsmanship and is customer-oriented, ensuring all internal and external customers receive top-notch service.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out all aspects of joinery work on repairs, maintenance, refurbishment projects, and new builds, including both first fix and second fix joinery works.
  • Remove and replace timber gutters and perform necessary repairs.
  • Handle carcassing timbers such as traditional roof timbers, trussed rafters, floor joists, and shuttering.
  • Install finished items like windows, doors, door frames, boarding to floors and walls, sills, skirtings, and architraves.
  • Set out hip roof designs for traditional and non-traditional roofs and install PVCu windows and doors/composite doors.
  • Apply PVCu trims and finishes to new works as required and implement security measures to empty and vulnerable properties.
  • Liaise with other employees of various trades, tenants, managers, etc., and work at heights using the necessary safety equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle stock levels at an optimum level to achieve service efficiency.
  • Submit all worksheets and documents relating to the job within the required timescales.
  • Carry out Driver/Labourer duties as and when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Joinery or equivalent qualification.
  • Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 in Joinery.
  • Previous experience in joinery work on repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment projects to a high standard.
  • Current driving license and the ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post.
  • Ability and experience of working at height.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to construction work.
