Currently we have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator based on site at our prestigious clients premises on the outskirts of Kettering to co-ordinate and support our site based team in the safe delivery of projects, maintenance and building service. to establish, manager and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure that H&S is adhered to as per the management systems. An Ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to take their first or an early next step in their Health & safety career
Main Responsibilities
* Ensure a safe working environment for employees and sub contractors engaged to carry out work on a client site.
* Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures and rules are followed, regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
* Issue and monitor Permits to Work and Authority to Work for work in progress and monitor progress
* Review and assess Risk Assessments and Method Statements created by our site managers and team leaders to ensure that they are suitable & sufficient and assist in improving standards.
* Working with the company SHEQ Manager, take the lead in any accident or incident investigation and reporting
* Assist in the development of health & safety policies, safe systems of work and procedures relevant to the companies operations on site.
* Work with the existing Site Health & Safety Co-ordinator to maintain records and documentation to ensure that Client Audit requirements are met
* Help to maintain the COSHH Management System

We value everyone's skills and experiences but for this role are looking for people who:
* An understanding of manufacturing engineering environments or work history in a similar role preferably within a engineering / construction environment
* Qualified or working towards a suitable level, i.e. IOSH Managing Safely and/or working towards NEBOSH General Certificate
* COSHH Awareness
* Have confidence in communicating and managing external contractors
* A professional attitude, conduct and demeanour
* Has strong negotiation and influencing skills and delivered in a professional manner
