Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a CYPS Childcare Assistant to work within Durham Council. This is a full time position, and we are paying £14.88 per hour for this role. 

The role:

Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Working under the supervision of qualified childcare professionals, you will assist in implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring children's well-being, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.

The role of the Support Worker will be to work alongside Police Colleagues, and colleagues from the Social Care Teams, to share knowledge and support to provide an effective response to those young people and vulnerable adults identified as being at risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing daily activities that promote the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of children.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for children by keeping a watchful eye on them during playtime, meals, and other activities.
  • Participate in educational and recreational activities such as reading, arts and crafts, music, and outdoor play to stimulate children's curiosity and creativity.
  • Help children with daily tasks such as meals, snacks, toileting, and nap times, ensuring their personal hygiene needs are met.
  • Observe children and report any signs of developmental delays, behavioural issues, or health concerns to senior staff members.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current Standard DBS check. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
