SRM Recruitment are supporting a scaling, PE backed property group in Oxfordshire recruit a Finance Manager (Financial Modelling).
The business is sub £100mn in turnover and have a robust land bank pipeline. Being PE backed there is a strong appetite for elevated levels of understanding around the commercial levers in the group and are looking for a candidate with strong financial modelling experience, who can "man mark" the PE owners and work with commercial teams.
This is not a more "vanilla" month end focused Finance Manager position. Our client is looking for a candidate who is an Financial Modeller:
- Highly proficient in Excel (power query, advanced data management formulae, pivots, lookups), knowledgeable and experienced in financial modelling, able to manage and interpret high volumes of data robustly and accurately
Key responsibilities:
Budgeting/Forecasting: producing, evaluating and presenting annual budget and 5-year plan, and quarterly re-forecast information for the senior management team and investors.
This includes:
- project managing collation of necessary inputs
- evaluating project milestone timings, build programmes, project costs and detailed reservation, exchange and legal completion profiles
- modelling financing agreements and options
- assessing risk and opportunity.
- Build and sales date forecasting: analyse build and sales data to ensure their build and sales dates are in line with their budgets and forecasts, highlighting any movements that may compromise delivery of budgets and forecasts:
- Cashflow Forecasting: preparing, developing and maintaining the short-term cash flow forecast for the business and understanding dependencies, risks and opportunities within the forecast.
- Management Accounts: lead production of monthly management accounts pack and financial elements of board pack. Within this supervise preparation of monthly project profitability reviews and project site trackers.
- Decision support: undertake timely, relevant and accurate analysis to deliver commercial insight and support business decision making as requested by the line manager
The ideal candidate would be a:
- ACA, ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with a strong, demonstrable thread to their CV in financial modelling or the capability to build/develop complex financial models. Some prior experience in a larger practice firm, perhaps within TS, modelling or Corporate Finance would be ideal but not a pre-requisite.
- Financial Modeller – Highly proficient in Excel (power query, advanced data management formulae, pivots, lookups), knowledgeable and experienced in financial modelling, able to manage and interpret high volumes of data robustly and accurately
- Tech Savvy – Excellent IT skills both using and understanding systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Commercial Acumen: able to demonstrate commercial acumen and understanding of the impact of their role within a business
Our client is based in Oxfordshire and this is an office based role, for the most part.
