A welcoming and supportive primary SEN school in Aylesbury is seeking a committed and compassionate Primary SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, SEMH needs, and developmental challenges.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where primary-aged children feel safe, supported, and encouraged in their learning journey.

Main Duties

Plan and deliver personalised Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with carefully designed targets suited to primary-aged pupils.
Teach creative, engaging, and appropriately differentiated lessons tailored to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent, holistic support.
Monitor progress regularly and adapt strategies, activities, and resources based on individual needs.
Maintain positive, ongoing communication with parents and carers, offering guidance and updates on both learning and wellbeing.
Build a classroom atmosphere rooted in kindness, respect, confidence-building, and emotional development.
Use effective behaviour support approaches to maintain a calm and structured environment ideal for primary SEN learners.
Take part in professional development opportunities to stay up to date with best practice in SEN and SEMH.
Candidate Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (a Master's degree is an advantage).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEN teaching qualification.
Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs or complex learning profiles.
Strong knowledge of primary SEN strategies, early developmental frameworks, and targeted interventions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with confidence working alongside families and external agencies.
A genuine passion for helping young children with additional needs grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
