About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will provide leadership and high-quality support to children, young people, and families in need. You will play a key role in delivering interventions, managing complex cases, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.

As a Family Support Worker, you will also act as a point of expertise and guidance for colleagues, supporting best practice in Early Help Assessments and intervention planning.

Key Responsibilities

* Early Help Assessments: Conduct detailed assessments to identify needs and create effective support plans for families.

* Right Help, Right Time: Apply the framework to deliver timely, targeted interventions that meet the specific needs of families.

* Intervention Delivery: Work directly with children, young people, and families to deliver practical and tailored support.

* Complex Case Management: Take responsibility for managing complex and high-need cases, ensuring effective risk assessment and planning.

* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with professionals from education, health, social care, and voluntary organisations to provide coordinated support.

* Team Support: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring best practice across the service.

* Safeguarding: Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local policies and procedures.

* Monitoring and Evaluation: Maintain accurate records of interventions, outcomes, and progress to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.

* Contribute to team meetings, case reviews, and multi-agency discussions, providing leadership and expertise as required.

Essential Criteria

* Demonstrated experience in conducting Early Help Assessments and delivering effective interventions.

* Strong knowledge of the Right Help, Right Time framework and its practical application.

* Extensive experience in multi-agency working, with the ability to lead and coordinate joint efforts across services.

* Proven ability to manage complex cases and assess risk effectively.

* Excellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families.
