Specialised SEN Outreach Tutor - Barking & Dagenham

About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Outreach Tutor to work 1:1 with young learners who are currently not in mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified teacher looking to move away from the traditional classroom setting and make a real difference through personalised learning support.

As an Outreach Tutor, you'll plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons designed to re-engage pupils, close learning gaps, and build confidence-particularly for those with special educational needs (SEN). Many of the students you'll support may have been out of education for extended periods and may face challenges including anxiety, SEMH needs, or learning difficulties.

We're looking for compassionate, resilient educators who can offer consistency, patience, and creativity to help these learners thrive.

Location: Barking and Dagenham (with opportunities in surrounding areas)
Position: SEN Outreach Tutor
Contract Type: Temporary, flexible
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Minimum 1 hour per session, up to 3 hours per session
Rate of Pay: From £25 per hour (depending on experience and assignment)The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
Minimum 6 months UK teaching or tutoring experience
Experience working with children with SEN or SEMH needs
A passion for delivering creative, personalised lessons
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (preferred but not essential)Eligibility Requirements:

Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
