The Role - Bespoke Joinery Production Manager

Main Contractor looking to take on board a Production Manager on a permanent basis in their joinery workshop based in Gravesend. Their focus will be working alongside their Prime and Super Prime projects to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Founded nearly 20 years ago, they now employ over 50 staff with projects in premier postcodes such as Belgravia, Holland Park, Knightsbridge, and Mayfair.

Their own specialist team of Construction Managers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers, and skilled trade workers work closely with prestigious designers, developers, and high-profile clients to achieve world-class homes. As well as newly built homes and traditional refurbishments, they have extensive experience working within Listed Buildings having completed numerous projects in the main London property estates including Crown, Grosvenor, Cadogan and de Walden.

The Role - Bespoke Joinery Production Manager

Duties include but are not limited to:

* Reporting to the MD, accountable for all workshop and installation operations ensuring all works are delivered on time, within budget and quality standards met.

* Lead, manage and accountable for all production operations including - Machining, Assembly, Finishing, Wrap and Pack and Installation

* Lead weekly production meetings.

* Scheduling and management of all project work orders through workshop departments and installation ensuring project timings and budgets are met.

* Management of workshop scheduling software ensuring accurate status of all production and installation work orders

* Preparation of production status and throughput reports

* Quality control of all work orders as they move through the production and installation process.

* Support project managers with programming of projects and scheduling of workorders

* Accountable for all workshop and site-based health and safety, ensuring adequate training of all staff, SSOW are followed, and all operations are carried out within HSE regulations.

* Workshop maintenance, including creating and maintaining workshop machinery and plant maintenance schedules ensuring LOLER and PUWER regulations are met.

* Management of workshop inventory, maintaining stock levels to ensure production output is optimized.

* Overseeing identification of project specific material requirements, ensuring materials are ordered in advance and delivered prior to commencing production.

* Develop and establish operational systems and processes to optimize workshop production and maximize throughput ensuring the highest standard of quality control.

* Workshop and installation resource management, arranging new hires and contract workers where and when required.

Requirements:

• Experienced in joinery workshop operations delivering high end residential joinery

• Sound knowledge of fabrication and finishing procedures with a wide understanding of joinery

materials including timber, boards, veneers, laminates, and hardware.

• Commercial awareness is essential, including a good understanding of project budgets

• Confident with IT systems and use of digital production management software

• Experienced in managing, developing, and building effective teams

• Strong management and communication skills

• A keen eye and attention to detail

• Excellent organizational ability

• Highly motivated
