Headley have a live vacancy for an experienced Estimating Engineer with a well regarded engineering business in West Yorkshire

The business is a sub-contract precision engineer machining a wide range of components for customers in diverse industry sectors. The quality and variety of work is excellent.

The role is a key part of the commercial team where you'll apply your technical knowledge and CN engineering experience to deliver accurate quotations to customers.

Duties of the role to include:

* Fielding incoming customer enquiries to calculate competitive cost estimates and quotations

* Analysing customer drawings and technical information

* Applying engineering knowledge to understand material requirements, machine and labour costs and times.

* Liaising with internal departments and customers to ensure best solutions

* Obtaining any quoted from suppliers or 3rd parties as required

The role would require significant machine shop experience

* Apprentice trained engineer, or similar, and most probably an ex machinist

* Excellent technical skills, and knowledge of the workings of a machine shop

* Commercial outlook, able to deal effectively with customers

* Strong numerical skills and a close attention to detail.
