Electrical Design Engineer (Contract - Long Term)

Rate: £35-£40 per hour

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering team delivering large-scale, mission critical projects. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability and the chance to work on high-profile developments.

You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, supporting both design and construction phases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Design of electrical systems for large mission critical projects, including LV Distribution, UPS systems and generator systems

* Production of electrical schematics and layout drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit

* Carry out electrical design calculations using Amtech (or similar)

* Support lighting design using Dialux (desirable)

* Prepare technical specifications and engineering reports

* Attend design meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams

* Support construction activities including site inspections and commissioning

* Liaise with subcontractors and procurement teams

* Review technical aspects of purchase orders

* Provide technical support throughout installation and project delivery

Requirements

* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering

* Experience in electrical design within building services (experience on mission critical projects advantageous but not essential)

* Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred

* Amtech experience beneficial

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines

* Based within commutable distance of Manchester with full UK working rights
