Role: Materials Buyer

Type: Permanent

Pay: £32,000 - £37,000 per annum (DOE) + quarterly bonus

Hours: 38 hours per week, 7:30-16:15 Monday to Thursday, 7:30 - 12:30 on Fridays!

Location: Leicester

I am currently recruiting for a leading manufacturer of electrical components in the Leicester area. My client is looking for a Materials Buyer with a strong work ethic to join their business due to growth in the company.

Materials Buyer - Responsibilities 

Order materials needed for projects, keeping costs and stock levels low
Make sure parts are bought at the best prices and arrive on time for production
Find and work with reliable suppliers, negotiating good terms and maintaining strong relationships
Look for ways to reduce waste and costs while keeping quality and delivery standards high
Follow ISO9001 standard procedures, and support ongoing improvements where required 

Materials Buyer - Experience required

CIPS qualified
Proven track record as a buyer in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings
Proficient in Microsoft office applications
Competent in ERP and MRP systems - EFACS preferred
Natural negotiator who communicates effectively
