Teaching Assistant
Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at one of our wonderful SEN Schools.
The role is ideal for someone committed to making a difference in pupils’ lives, including those with behavioural needs. The successful candidate will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff to facilitate learning and support catch-up sessions for small groups of KS3 and KS4 students.
Day to Day of the role:
- Assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes.
- Provide support to individual pupils or small groups to enable access to learning.
- Contribute to the management of pupil behaviour, ensuring a constructive learning environment.
- Participate in planning and preparation of lessons with teaching staff.
- Support pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they engage in activities alongside other pupils.
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
- Understanding of the needs of children with behavioural needs.
- Ability to work effectively under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.
- A Disclosure & Barring Service Check will be required for this position.
