Zest Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coaches to work in secondary schools across Derby. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about inspiring young people through sport and physical activity. You’ll deliver engaging PE lessons and sports sessions, encourage participation, and promote a positive attitude towards health and fitness.

We offer both day-to-day cover and long-term placements, allowing you to choose work that suits your availability and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality PE lessons and sports sessions across KS3 and KS4.
• Manage and motivate groups of students, promoting teamwork and discipline.
• Support classroom teachers with PE curriculum delivery and extracurricular activities.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and pupils.

Requirements

• A background in Sports Coaching, PE Teaching, or a related discipline.
• Relevant coaching qualifications (minimum Level 2 preferred).
• Experience working with young people in an educational or sports setting.
• A positive, energetic attitude with strong communication skills.
• An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate — or willingness to apply for one.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
