About the opportunity
We're seeking a dedicated SEN teaching assistant with a specialism in social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs to join a vibrant primary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, providing essential support and encouragement to students who need it most.

What you'll be doing
• Delivering tailored 1:1 and group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs
• Building trusting relationships to help students develop resilience, self-esteem, and positive behaviour
• Supporting the teaching team in creating a nurturing, structured learning environment
• Assisting with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every child

Who we're looking for
• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or in a similar SEN role
• Calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour management
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to promoting inclusivity and positive mental health
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH/SEN (desirable but not essential)
