Overview
Adept Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Bandsaw Operative to join a well-established engineering and steel processing company in the Sheffield area. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable individual who thrives in a hands-on environment and is confident working with industrial cutting equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate horizontal bandsaw machines to cut metal bars, sections, and billet to required lengths and specifications
Set blade tension, speed, and feed rate based on job requirements
Read and interpret job orders, technical drawings, and cutting lists
Use measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers, rulers) to ensure precision and accuracy
Load and unload materials using cranes or forklifts (training provided if necessary)
Monitor condition of blades and carry out blade changes as needed
Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure safe working practices
Maintain a clean and organised working area in line with health and safety guidelines
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience operating a bandsaw in a metal or manufacturing environment
Confident reading technical drawings and measuring cut pieces to specification
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Forklift or crane operation experience is an advantage but not essential (training may be provided)
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
