Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Estimator on a 3 month contract based in Hertfordshire.

Role Summary

· Supporting the Managing & Senior Estimators to develop estimates from 1st Principles associated with the civil portions of multi disciplined Highways Projects across various stages of the estimate.

· Be a member of the team developing the price.

· Support more senior members of the team to present, negotiate and justify prices produced in an open and honest manner to both senior leaders within the business and/or external customers/partners. As an Estimator, you will have the following Key Responsibilities.

· Undertake estimates in accordance with the companies' policies and procedures.

· Review customer's drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment

· Oversee and/or interrogate design options and 'value' solutions, and if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles.

· Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities including supporting developing the risk evaluation from a pricing/budgetary point of view.

· Liaise with members of the project team & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.

Requirements

· Infrastructure Main Contractor background

· Previous experience in an estimating role, Commercial or operational background considered.

· Working towards or chartered with a relevant industry recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc (desirable).

· Experienced estimating background using Candy Estimating Software (desirable but not essential).

· Good financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation accurately. · Proficient in general IT applications e.g. Word and Excel
