Key Role essentials and responsibilities –

  • A full UK driver’s licence is essential, as you’ll be driving my mobility vehicle to help me visit family and friends, attend events, and enjoy days out across the UK. I love getting out and about, but I also really value having quieter times to rest and recharge - so I’m looking for someone who understands that balance. If you enjoy being on the road and making a meaningful difference along the way, this could be a great fit for you!
  • Competent verbal and written English
  • Must have experience within health and social care settings

Meet the person you’ll be supporting:

  • Who am I? I am a Lady in my 30s
  • What challenges do I have? I have Cerebral Palsy, Scoliosis, Crossed Quadriplegia, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), as well as anxiety and depression. I am also currently experiencing a high number of infections, which can sometimes impact their mood. I am looking for someone who’s understanding, patient, and compassionate - someone who can offer steady support and make a positive difference each day.
  • What Aspirations do I have? I’m really hoping to build a strong, reliable team of support staff who I can trust. It’s important to me that my team can drive, as I love getting out of the house and want to start reconnecting with my family and friends again. One of my biggest dreams is to visit my family in America one day. I’d also love the chance to get back into work in some capacity - I’m a qualified youth worker and it’s something I’m still passionate about. While I enjoy being busy and active, I also really value my quiet time to rest and recharge, so I’m looking for people who understand that balance and can support me in a way that works for both of us.
  • What types of people do I get along with? I’m outgoing, clever, and confident, and I get along best with people who are mature, reliable, and can match my energy while still knowing when to take a step back. I’m looking for female-only staff who can drive, are comfortable around dogs, and who genuinely prioritise my care. It’s a big plus if you have some knowledge or experience with personality disorders, as that helps with understanding my needs. I also need someone who’s kind and supportive when I’m spending time with my friends -some of whom may have additional needs too.

My team

  • How many people support me at one time? I am supported on a 1:1 ratio of a day time and 1-1 for the night shifts, I have full capacity and have full involvement in my care and decision making.
  • What shift patterns do my team do? My shift patterns long day sleeps
  • What are my team trained in? My staff receive a bespoke training course tailored specifically to meet my needs. This includes all the mandatory training, as well as manual handling (including using my specific hoist), medication training, and training around personality disorders. It’s really important to me that my team feel confident, capable, and well-equipped to support me in the right way.

A Note From Me:

“I’m really flexible when it comes to working together. Just remember, you’ll be in my home, so we’ll need a little time to get to know each other. It might take me a while to feel totally comfortable, but once we click, you’ll be like a friend for life. I really believe in building a strong, trusting relationship, and I’m excited to see how we can work together!”
