Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and professional Facilities Maintenance Technician with the primary responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of a facility to ensure the highest levels of service and safety. This role will be located in North West England, Greater Manchester, Stockport and is a permanent role, expected to work Full-Time hours, within the Facilities Management and Scientific and Pharmaceuticals industries. Job Duties

Perform and supervise general building maintenance operations.
Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment to identify and address any improvements or repairs needed.
Perform daily, monthly or seasonal preventative maintenance.
Perform minor repairs to walls, plumbing, furniture, light fixtures and HVAC systems.
Material and inventory management.
Carry out cleaning operations regularly.
Maintain records of building activities, e.g. temperature readings, maintenance schedules and contract documents.
Provide key support across new projects and remodeling works.
Inspect fire safety equipment and ensure all safety regulations are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities maintenance.
Competent in a range of trades such as plumbing, painting, and electrical.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of HAVC, Building Code and OSHA safety regulations.
Ability to oversee work orders and respond quickly to tenant requests.
Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Vocational School or Trade Certifications preferred.
Previous experience in facilities management.
Hands-on experience in carpentry, HVAC, painting, plumbing, electrical works and grounds keeping.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.

Preferred Qualifications

Able to move safely and lift heavy objects.
Must be able to work outdoor in varying weather conditions.
Flexible to work extended hours including evenings, on-call and weekends as needed.
Manual dexterity required to use common office equipment
