Elevation Accountancy & Finance are excited to be supporting a well-established & innovative manufacturing business based in the Sheffield area as they look to expand their team further and appoint a Part Qualified, Assistant Financial Accountant.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Financial Controller to support across a range of month & year end duties, including the financial close process, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, preparing year end schedules, corporation tax compliance, audit and much, much more! This is an exciting and progressive opportunity for someone to play a key role in the business where you will need to roll up your sleeves and really get stuck in.

Duties of the Assistant Financial Accountant will include:

* Significant involvement in the weekly and monthly financial reporting process
* Improvement of Purchase Ledger Controls and standing data
* Monitoring of GRNI's
* Working with the GSS AP team on any purchasing queries
* Sales & margin analysis
* VAT and intrastat reporting
* Carry our ad hoc tasks as requested by the Financial Accountant/Controller
* Liaising with internal and external customers and providing financial information and advice
* Maintaining records and preparing accounts and management information
* Assisting with the preparation of accounts
* Monthly journal posting
* Auditing external and internal work
* Looking after financial transactions and budget
* Controlling budgets
* Reports writing Any other duties as may be required

Person specification:

* ACCA/ACA Part Qualified
* Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting capacity - Essential
* A good understanding of general accounting functions - Essential
* Knowledge of manufacturing environment desirable
* Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements
* A self-starter, dedicated and a driven person
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work to strict deadlines
* Ability to effectively integrate within the finance team
* Assertive approach, able to communicate at all levels and in varying situations
