Position: Kitchen Assistant / Porter New Opening: Restaurant, Gastro, Cocktail Wine Bar, Rooftop Rooms Location: City of London Salary: £8.50 phr (October 2019 review) Working Hrs: 5 Days / 7 Shifts (48 – 52 hrs) COMPANY INFO Award-winning independent group of rosette level eateries (gastros and bistros) set to launch fourth site on 1 st May. Beautifully refurbished City corner property with 60-seat restaurant; additional 30-cover gastro bar; 15 rooms plus small rooftop space. Food: weekly rolling modern British menu showcasing own-grown produce alongside award-winning produce sourced from small artisan South East based growers and suppliers. All made in house (butchery, fish prep, smoking, brining, pickling, baking, etc) from newly-built open kitchen. Rosette level rustic style – expect robust flavours, good modern technical cooking and quirky touches. Supported by rotating range of craft ales; bio-dynamic wines and seasonal botanical / retro cocktail list. 7 day operation (breakfast / lunch / dinner): forecasted to be busy from launch onward. Also offering private dining, exclusive hire and rotation of special events, workshops and masterclasses throughout the year. ROLE DESCRIPTION As part of a small kitchen brigade and under the guidance and training of the Head & Sous chefs, you will be responsible for fresh food preparation, storage of deliveries, washing up and daily cleaning of kitchen. As part of your working day – you will receive good direction and development with real opportunities of development and progression available. Working alongside the Head and Sous chefs; assisting with the daily smooth running of the kitchen and service (ensuring all standards upheld on a consistent basis) Brigade of 4 chefs to start (2 chefs on service) Fantastic opportunity to work for an expanding, progressive group focused on quality, standards and overall customer experience – offering good levels of trust and freedom, ongoing development, challenge and progression – good involvement and input in the day-to-day business (“everyone has a voice in how we do things”). Ideas and ownership encouraged – chance to make your mark. Future projects: fifth, larger City opening confirmed to launch in spring 2020 (refurb project starting this September). DESIRED ATTRIBUTES This role would suit a Kitchen Porter or Assistant with lots of enthusiasm and energy who’s looking for the chance to have input and to develop knowledge and skills with a view to progressing to Junior chef level.
