Location: Barry and RCT areas
35 hours per week
Monday to Friday
9am to 5pm
Salary: £27,478
Type: Temporary cover for the next few months
Are you passionate about supporting people to live independently and improve their quality of life?
We're looking for a compassionate and proactive Independent Living Officer to join a dedicated Specialist Housing and Support team. You'll play a key role in supporting residents across independent living schemes, helping them maintain their tenancies, build confidence, and live safely and independently.
About the Role
This is a varied, people-focused position where no two days are the same. You'll:
- Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to residents
- Carry out assessments and support planning tailored to individual needs
- Work closely with health, social care, and community partners
- Support residents through crisis situations and safeguarding concerns
- Help maintain safe, compliant living environments through regular checks
- Encourage community engagement and social activities
You'll be working across multiple schemes, building strong relationships and making a real difference every day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting vulnerable people (housing, health, or social care)
- Strong understanding of older people's needs and wellbeing
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
