Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: starting at £12.75 per hour (depending on experience & qualifications)
Shift Pattern: 3 on / 3 off rota
We are currently recruiting for Residential Childcare Workers to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people and supporting them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people
- Support young people with daily routines, education, and activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality care and support
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people in a care, support, or residential setting is desirable but not essential
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Willingness to work shifts including evenings and weekends
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
- Full UK manual driving licence.
