Summary of Position:
Our client, a building consumable supplier, are looking for a Field Account Manager to join their team. The Field Account Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling a range of construction materials and supplies to contractors, builders, architects, and other professionals in the construction industry. Your primary objective will be to drive sales, increase market share and achieve revenue targets while providing exceptional customer service.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to identify and target potential customers in the construction industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and providing personalised solutions.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively prospect for new customers though cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of the building consumables.
- Provide accurate and timely quotations, negotiate pricing, and close sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and customer service to ensure seamless order processing and delivery.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to expand your professional network and promote our products.
- Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, customer interactions and market intelligence using CRM software.
- Resolve customer complaints and concern in a timely and satisfactory manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities, with a focus on delivering value to customers.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of building materials and construction processes is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Valid UK Drivers licence and ability to travel as needed.
